US Army Col John Michael Jennings

 

 

The History

US Army Col. John Michael Jennings died in Vietnam after his helicopter was shot down by the enemy on January 17, 1970.  He was 42 years old.

 

 

The Family

US Army Col. John Michael Jennings was from Utica, NY.  He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Jennings.  He had one brother, Robert and two sisters, Mrs. Albert (Ann) Renwick and Mrs. John (Catherine) Wiegand.  Col. Jennings was married to Grace DiNoia and they had five children, Margaret Ann, John Michael, Catherine Mary, Patrick Leonard and Mary Isabelle.  The family resided in Maryland while Col. Jennings was serving in Vietnam.

Col. Jennings attended Sacred Heart School in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy.  He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
