Pvt. Allen Morgan Garrett was from Holland Patent, NY. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Garrett. He had one brother, Gordon and one sister, Mrs. Donna Mae Wengert.

Pvt. Garrett graduated from Holland Patent High School where he played and loved varsity basketball. He enlisted in the Army in 1963.
