US Army SGT Christopher C. Simpson

 

 

The History

US Army Sgt. Christopher Simpson was killed in action on March 17, 2008 in Baghdad, Iraq from wounds sustained when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device during combat operations.  He was 23 years old.

 

 

The Family

Sgt. Simpson was from Rome, NY.  He was the son of Scott Simpson and Kate McLaughlin.  He had three brothers, Richard, Matthew and Michael and one sister, Anna.

Sgt. Simpson loved his country, he loved the Army and he loved being part of something that really truly mattered.  But more than anything, Chris loved his family, he spent every minute he could with them.  They gave him so much love, and he returned it all.  This family will never fill the hole that losing Chris drilled in their hearts but they are proud of him for all he gave to the world.

Sgt. Simpson served with the 1st Battalion, 68th Armor Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division.  Sgt. Simpson is buried in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Syracuse, NY
