US Army Sgt Gregory Lee White died in Vietnam on November 11, 1970. He was 21 years old.
The Family
Sgt. Gregory White was from Alder Creek, NY. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin White. He had five brothers, Fred, James, Dale, Mark and Philip and one sister, Rebecca White.

Sgt. Gregory White was on his second tour to Vietnam. He served with the 54th Medical Detachment Ambulance Division. He was the recipient of the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters for Air Rescue Missions in the combat zone. He received the Bronze Star for his work in assisting the wounded in battle. He also received the Vietnamese Campaign Ribbon with three stars and the Vietnam Service Medal.

Sgt. White was a 1967 graduate of Adirondack Central School. Before entering the Army he was employed by the Georgia Pacific Paper Company in Lyons Falls. He was a member of the Boonville Presbyterian Church, the National Rifle Association and was the Assistant Scout Master for Troop 13 in Boonville.
