US Army Sgt Leslie Jacob Jones



The History

US Army Sgt. Leslie Jacob Jones was captured by the enemy and died in a Prison Camp on November 30, 1950. He was 21 years old.



The Family

Sgt. Leslie Jacob Jones was from Waterville, NY.  He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Jones.  He had two brothers, Thomas and James of Hamilton, NY and four sisters, Mrs. Earl Simpson, Mrs. Francis Jaquaya, Beverly Jones and Elsie Jones all of Waterville.

Sgt. Jones served with the 38th Infantry Regiment, Med Co, 2nd Infantry Division of the United Stated Army.

Mr. and Mrs. James Jones received word from Washington that a released prisoner had witnessed the death of their son, Sgt. Leslie Jacob Jones from malnutrition.  His body was not returned.
