The History

US Army SP4 Frederick Mezzatesta was killed in action in Vietnam on August 17, 1969.  He was 21 years old.

The Family

US Army SP4 Frederick Mezzatesta was originally from Rome, NY but moved to Whitesboro, NY with his family in 1963.  He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph (Florence Grosjean) Mezzatesta.  He had one brother, Joseph and one sister, Karen Ann.

US Army SP4 Frederick Mezzatesta graduated from Notre Dame High School in Utica.  He attended Utica College after graduation.  He was employed by Williams Wheelworks.  Frederick attended St. Patrick’s Church as well as St. Joseph’s Church.  He was a member of the Catholic Youth Organization.
