USMC PFC Joseph Anthony Marturano was killed in Vietnam when the transport plane he was aboard was shot down on March 6, 1968. He was 18 years old.

USMC PFC Joseph Anthony Marturano was from Rome, NY. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. (Jennie Farino) Marturano. He had two brothers, Frank and Anthony and one sister Mrs. James (Rosetta) Tavares.

PFC Marturano graduated from Rome Free Academy and enlisted in the Marine Corps on July 18, 1967. He had been in Vietnam for two weeks when he was killed.
